Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

How long do the images take

Each photo at the end of your shoot is fully edited before uploading to your viewing album. What I capture on the back of my camera will look vastly different to the final image that you see. Some edits will take 15 minutes, some up to an hour. Your images can take up to 3-4 weeks to edit. Once they are ready, you can view them securely on my website in a private album. I will invite you to either an in person viewing or digital meeting via Zoom to go over what you would like to do with your images.
Depending on what you order after your shoot, Products can take up to 3 to 4 weeks to be delivered to you.

Which areas do you cover?

Technically, The whole of the UK!
My travel radius covers a 30 mile radius of FK16. Locations outside of this may have a travel fee added at £0.45p per mile (round trip)
Travel expenses can be split if there are multiple bookings in the same area.

How much does it cost?

Travel fees may be added if you are located outside a 30-mile radius of FK16 at 45p per mile (round trip) The session fee pays for my travel to your location, the setting up before the session, the photo shoot itself, the time it takes to edit your images and the viewing consultation once your images are ready.

Yes! All of our products will come with the matching digital file, that you can print from and share online with friends and family.
They can also be purchased via our digital file collection if you prefer to print yourself.
All of our digital files come with a personal use licence, copyright will still remain with myself.

Please note that we cannot guarantee quality if you choose to use your own printing services.

I have more than one horse/dog - can they all be included in the shoot?

Yes of course! All of my shoots can be catered to individual or multiple pets. I do ask when you are booking to let me know how many animals will be involved. This will help with arranging a suitable time to start the session (especially during winter months when there is less light)
I do not charge for additional subject, but please note that the photoshoot and editing time will be longer than average

My pet is ill/ may not have a lot of time left, Can I still book them in?

If your pet is in their senior years, is terminally ill or cannot travel as far. I will do my best to accommodate you and your pet last minute. Please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Can I get the family involved in the shoot?

Yes of course! You are more than welcome to bring the whole family along for your session.

My dog lacks obidence training, will this be an issue?

Not at all. Although basic obidence can be a benifet (the dog knowing sit, down, stay, wait) it isn't necesarry. If your dog does not have recall they will be kept on the lead during the shoot. Each session is catered to your pets. If your dog does have behavioural issues (reactive, nervous,) Please let me know before the shoot so I can best accomidate them during the day.

Holi powder? What is that?

You may have seen the coloured powder images I do with horses and dogs. This is a pet safe, corn starch based powder. (99% cornstartch, 1% food colouring)
Small handfuls are used during the shoot on your horse or dog's back - never near their faces!
It does not stain, and any flooring/grass it falls on washes away with water. Any powder that is on your horse or dog's back will come out with a good brush and a bath!

My yard isn't very photogenic / I don't know where I want to do the photoshoot

If your yard isn't the best location for the shoot or you are not sure where you want the photos done - I can offer reccomendations for locations that I know will work best for the photoshoot. I always try and find a spot that is close by to you or a bit further out if you are happy to travel. If you don't have transport for your horse but would like to do the shoot outside of your yard I can arrange transport (note that the costs of transport will be added to the session fee)

What if the weather is bad?

Scotland isn't known for its sunshine… In the likely scenario that it rains or is too risky to go forward with the photoshoot, I will discuss alternative dates for your shoot. Upon booking, I normally ask you for a few dates that best suit you in case of bad weather. There is no fee for reschedules due to weather, we will simply discuss a new date that will best suit your session!
